# Contact Form → Google Sheets

## What this builds

A reproducible Zapier build recipe. Create a new Zap in your Zapier account and configure the trigger and actions in the order below.

## Reading the field values

Values in braces are not typed literally unless it says so below.

- `{{trigger.name}}` — data from the trigger. Insert it from the field's dropdown in the Zap editor rather than typing it; the name shown there is your app's wording for the same field.
- `{{zap_meta_human_now}}` — a Zapier built-in. Type this one exactly as written, braces included.

## Trigger

**App:** Google Forms
**Event:** New Form Response

**Configuration:**

- Form: Contact form

## Step 1: Google Sheets — Create Spreadsheet Row

- **Spreadsheet:** `Leads`
- **Worksheet:** `Contact form`
- **Date:** `{{zap_meta_human_now}}`
- **Name:** `{{trigger.name}}`
- **Email:** `{{trigger.email}}`
- **Message:** `{{trigger.message}}`

## Requirements

- **Zapier plan:** Zapier Free
- **Total steps:** 2 (1 trigger + 1 actions)
- **One-click import:** not published yet. Build it from the steps below; every field value you need is here.

## Test data

- **name:** `Jo Mercer`
- **email:** `jo@example.com`
- **message:** `Do you take on small retainer work?`

## Production notes

- Keep the sheet columns stable after you map the fields.
- This is a single-step Zap, so it runs on Zapier’s Free plan.

## Build method

1. Create a new Zap.
2. Configure the trigger and test it with the example data.
3. Add the actions in order and map the supplied fields.
4. Run a full test.
5. Turn the Zap on.
