# Form Response Backup

## What this builds

A reproducible Zapier build recipe. Create a new Zap in your Zapier account and configure the trigger and actions in the order below.

## Reading the field values

Values in braces are not typed literally unless it says so below.

- `{{trigger.Submitted At}}` — data from the trigger. Insert it from the field's dropdown in the Zap editor rather than typing it; the name shown there is your app's wording for the same field.

## Trigger

**App:** Typeform
**Event:** New Entry

**Configuration:**

- Form: Any form you rely on

## Step 1: Google Sheets — Create Spreadsheet Row

- **Spreadsheet:** `Form backup`
- **Worksheet:** `Raw`
- **Submitted:** `{{trigger.Submitted At}}`
- **Response ID:** `{{trigger.Response ID}}`
- **All answers:** `{{trigger.All Answers}}`

## Step 2: Google Drive — Create File from Text

- **Folder:** `Backups/Forms`
- **File name:** `{{trigger.Response ID}}.txt`
- **Content:** `{{trigger.All Answers}}`

## Requirements

- **Zapier plan:** Zapier Starter or higher
- **Total steps:** 3 (1 trigger + 2 actions)
- **One-click import:** not published yet. Build it from the steps below; every field value you need is here.

## Test data

- **Response ID:** `r-9931`
- **Submitted At:** `2026-02-19 09:14`
- **All Answers:** `Name: Sam; Email: sam@example.com; Budget: 4000`

## Production notes

- This is deliberately boring. Boring backups are the ones that still work in two years.
- Works with any form app: Google Forms, Jotform, Tally, Fillout, Gravity Forms or a Webhooks catch hook.
- Add Dropbox or OneDrive as a second destination if the data is business-critical.

## Build method

1. Create a new Zap.
2. Configure the trigger and test it with the example data.
3. Add the actions in order and map the supplied fields.
4. Run a full test.
5. Turn the Zap on.
