# Lead Magnet Delivery

## What this builds

A reproducible Zapier build recipe. Create a new Zap in your Zapier account and configure the trigger and actions in the order below.

## Reading the field values

Values in braces are not typed literally unless it says so below.

- `{{trigger.Email}}` — data from the trigger. Insert it from the field's dropdown in the Zap editor rather than typing it; the name shown there is your app's wording for the same field.

## Trigger

**App:** Google Forms
**Event:** New Form Response

**Configuration:**

- Form: Free guide download
- Fields: First name, email

## Step 1: Gmail — Send Email

- **To:** `{{trigger.Email}}`
- **Subject:** `Your guide is here`

**Body:**

```text
Hi {{trigger.First Name}},
Here it is: https://yoursite.com/downloads/guide.pdf
If it is useful, the weekly newsletter covers the same ground in smaller pieces. You are on it now — one click at the bottom of any email removes you.
Best,
Your Name
```

## Step 2: Mailchimp — Add/Update Subscriber

- **Audience:** `Newsletter subscribers`
- **Email:** `{{trigger.Email}}`
- **First name:** `{{trigger.First Name}}`
- **Tags:** `lead-magnet, guide`
- **Source:** `Free guide form`

## Requirements

- **Zapier plan:** Zapier Starter or higher
- **Total steps:** 3 (1 trigger + 2 actions)
- **One-click import:** not published yet. Build it from the steps below; every field value you need is here.

## Test data

- **First Name:** `Sam`
- **Email:** `sam@example.com`

## Production notes

- Host the file at a stable URL. Attaching PDFs to automated email increases the chance of landing in spam.
- Say on the form that signing up subscribes them to the newsletter. It is both required in the EU and better practice everywhere.
- Any form and any email platform work here — the shape of the workflow does not change.

## Build method

1. Create a new Zap.
2. Configure the trigger and test it with the example data.
3. Add the actions in order and map the supplied fields.
4. Run a full test.
5. Turn the Zap on.
